My best friend got married :)

To my best friend Reina on her wedding day.  September 23th, 2012.

Reina has been one of my best friends since we first met in 2005. She was my Maid of Honor when I got married last year. Unfortunately, I missed her wedding day due distance and other factors. With that said, I felt the need to write a little something for her special day.

A few words to describe Reina: loud, outgoing, and caring. These are the reasons why I love her as my best friend. She has always been there for me; through the really bad and really good. She has never turned her back on me. She never gave up on our friendship when times were insane (example: my wedding). And she has never betrayed my trust. I’m lucky to call her my friend.

Reina: We were both in rough places when we first met. For the past 7 years, we have gone through life’s journey together as friends and watched each other grow into responsible adults. You have become so mature, determined, passionate, and most importantly your heart has continued to grow. You found an amazing man, got engaged, started University, started a photography business, and are now getting married!  I want to tell you that I am proud of you.

Chuck: You make my best friend the happiest I have ever seen her. All I can ask of you is to continue to make her laugh, smile, and love her unconditionally.

My advice to you both

Life is short; enjoy the simple things

Communicate with each other

Be honest with one another

Surround yourself with positivity

Lastly: don’t forget about me J

Congratulations to the both of you! <3

Halloween!

I'm very excited for Halloween this year.. I think it's because our community has expanded so much and people now know we live here. I'm hoping we get more than 10 kids but let's be realistic, I quite enjoy eating the left over candy :)

I seen this on pinterest and am hoping to make this for my costume; with or without the bow :)

16 weeks

Today marks 16 weeks! Yay :)

We went to the doctors on Thursday and hubby got to hear the heartbeat for the first time. It was nice and strong at 150bpm-ish. What a beautiful sound! It's hard to believe there's something growing inside my belly :) Some day it hits me harder than others. I'm not exactly the most maternal woman so it will be an interesting journey :) I go for my 20 week ultrasound on October 15th.

We recently bought a crib (put it together tonight hehe) and my amazing mother-in-law has already sent us some baby stuff :) Getting excited! Here's my 16 week bump :)

15 Weeks

I’m going to be a mommy!! Some days it hits me harder than others. Being a mom is the one thing I’ve always wanted to be so I’m looking forward to having a family J

This isn’t how I pictured my life though. I thought I would have 2 kids before 26 and be a single mother or in an unhealthy relationship. Hmmm... obviously I didn’t have high expectations back then! But I’m very happy with how things have turned out. I’m 27, met an incredible man, got engaged, received my college diploma, started work, bought a house, got married, and BAM… baby on the way! What an exciting and adventurous 4.5 years it’s been! J

So now I’m sitting here 15.5 weeks pregnant (yes, I count the half weeks). All it took was 2 endometriosis surgeries, many doctors appointments, and a lot of trying. What many people don’t know is that it’s been a very emotional process and I was seeing a fertility doctor.

FYI - The average woman’s cycle is 28 days, so for every 2 cycles a “regular” woman has, I was having 1… that makes it very difficult when trying to have a baby. Especially if you aren’t ovulating or don’t know when you're ovulating.

I was suppose to start a fertility drug called clomid on the next cycle, but luckily enough, I found out I was pregnant J The joke in my family is that I will have twins since both my mother and mother-in-law are identical twins. From what we know, there’s only 1 in there! J

So far, I have a mini bump which is about my only pregnancy symptom to date. No sickness. No tiredness. Nada. Ok..wait.. I lied.. my boobs are bigger (WOOHOO!) and my fingernails are longer! J I’m sure my husband would argue with this and add crankiness and emotional to the list but he's wrong :P hehe
I’m enjoying this though and can’t wait to feel baby H move. I’ve felt a few flutters when it's quiet and I'm lying on my back.. but it seems too early to tell! We do have names picked out but it’s a surprise! J

September 11th

11 years. Wow.

I will start off this blog by saying my thoughts are with everyone who has lost a family member, friend, or co-worker on this devastating day. A big thank you to the firemen, police officers, paramedics, and anyone/everyone who risked their life and health to help those in New York.
