3 months already??!

Where has the time gone?? It will be a year next week since I found out I was pregnant. Fast forward to right now and I have the cutest, bald, chubby-legged boy staring at me. I can't believe yesterday was his 3 month birthday. We celebrated by eating cupcakes on his behalf. They were delicious.

There really is nothing easy about motherhood... Wait, I take that back. Loving him is super easy!

How could I not love this face?

Everything else is hard though! The worst part? Holding your baby while they're getting their shots. Can you say heartbreaking?  It's way worse then labour and delivery. That's a physical pain. Listening to your child cry from pain, that you intentionally caused but for their own benefit of course, is like stabbing yourself in the heart with 10,000  knives. Thankfully for me, he only cried for 10-20 seconds until I plopped him on my boob. He had the best sleep after that.

He's still the best thing that's happened to me. I'm sure I'm going to wake up and he'll be turning 1 soon enough. For now, I'm going to enjoy every day and all the new adventures we have planned.

Beach
Swimming pool on deck - it gets hot here
Swimming lessons (they start at 4 months! Who knew?)
Walks
Trips to see family
BBQ's
Friend visits
Paddleboarding

Ok the last one is mine but Mylo will have daddy time so it's a win-win situation. It's going to be a fun summer! Now let's pray the weather stays nice and no forest fires this year!

What do you have planned for summer?

Proud mommy moment!

Ladies and gents.. we hit a huge milestone this weekend. On Saturday, my munchkin decided to surprise us while on tummy time... by rolling over! Proud mommy moment right there! Of course there were waterworks by yours truly. It's crazy to think he'll be 3 months old in a matter of days. My baby boy isn't going to be a baby for much longer. *Enter sad face*

Excuse the sniffling.

I love holding him while he sleeps. I can't hear anything but his breathing. I can't feel anything but his warmth. I can't smell anything but his sweet baby smell. In those moments, the world stops for a split second and nothing else matters.

What are you grateful for?

Mylo, I am so grateful to have you in my life.

Right now, I'm sitting back watching you sleep. I swear, there is nothing more peaceful and innocent than watching a child sleep. You know nothing of this world and at times, I wish I didn't either. It's a scary and dangerous place but for now, you are far too young and precious to understand that.

I try to focus on the good things to come.
Playing at the park.
Bike riding.
Arts & crafts.
Traveling.
Camping.
Going to the beach.
And my favorite... family movie nights snuggling on the couch.

I know there will be a lot of hard times to come but I feel grateful that I have so much to look forward to. I hope you remember, even in the toughest times, that Mommy and Daddy will always love you.

If you live in Montreal and are looking for a photographer, you should visit my friend Reina's page. She is extremely talented and will be available after the summer.

Introducing the newest addition to our family...

How things change in the matter of minutes. I've always wanted a family and that day finally arrived on March 12th when our baby boy was born. It's still hard to believe that I'm a mommy now.

I was a hot mess

Mylo was born weighing 9lbs 1oz. That's right, 9 pounds. Not exactly what we were expecting. I never thought I could would deliver a baby that big.

Bigger than expected

Looking back on my 39 week picture, it's not surprising. I was huge!

Mylo is now 6 weeks old and continues to amaze me every single day. I'm lucky to be on a "schedule" now with feedings and sleeping. It could be changing soon because I think he's starting another growth spurt. Either way, I'm just happy to be getting a few hours of sleep here and there.

The first 4 weeks were by far the toughest and most brutal 4 weeks of my life. It was hell. I know that's sounds really bad but I'm being honest. There was a whole lot to learn since we have little/no prior experience with babies. It's a scary feeling being responsible for this tiny person and not knowing what to do but we're learning and we have one happy boy!

We are so happy he's finally here.

I'm so in love.

I love watching him sleep.
I love giving him kisses.
I love snuggling with him.

He is so perfect in my eyes. I have such an unconditional love for this tiny little being and my heart continues to grow every day. I'm looking forward to the journey that falls before us. Luckily I have this blog to track all the milestones so we can look back on it in the future.

- xoxo M
